I redesigned this site, glennfink.com, in May 2014. I used only XHTML and CSS and a plain text app (TextEdit). I wrote all code from scratch. I also did all the graphic work using Photoshop.
In the early 2000's I had an extremely popular fan site that I ran with a partner, called SMGFAN. We had over 10,000 unique visitors per day on average, and the site was referenced in several publications related to its subject matter. It still exists today, in truncated form. I supervised its last redesign which was now over 10 years ago. Today these types of sites are obsolete, but at the time, it got me exclusive interviews with several industry insiders, and even a press spot the red carpet at Graumann's Chinese Theatre during the premiere of the movie Scooby Doo. It gave me experience in how to successfully promote in the entertainment industry.
I just completed a Web design course at George Mason University, and this was one of the final projects I produced.
Even though I have produced database driven Web sites in the past, I took this course to help familiarize myself with more recent HTML trends, including the use of CSS as a full page layout design tool. The course also gave me a primer on XML and XHTML, as well as various successful design methods.
